The volcano belongs to Avachinskaya Volcanic Group, it is situated in the cross of longitudinal and diametrical cracks. Koryaksky Volcano is a stratovolcano by tape. By its shape this volcano is a cone ribbed which top part has been cut in its west side slightly. The cone is furrowed with deep radial barancoses. Small contemporary crate is situated in the west part of external cone, this is small rounded cap which diameter is 180 –200m. The height of safe walls is 20õ30ì.From the south the crater is open, short lava flow comes down from this side along the barancose. Northern part of the top bears a circus with approximate diameter 500m and the depth more than 100m separated from contemporary crater by narrow comb. This circus probably might be ancient crater, which has been enlarged as a result of glacier erosion. Numeral slag and ice cones are well seen at the volcanic slopes in the foot, these cones have been formed by minor eruptions. Last eruption took place in 1896 and was of lava character. Since the time this volcano doesn’t demonstrate any activity aside from rarely seen poor evaporation in the crater.
